Artist Statement
I’ve always been drawn to random objects for one reason or another. I use these objects along with other intriguing images I’ve collected in constructions that become meaningful only because of their symbiotic associations. This newly created whole, which is symbolic, represents the inner and outer self.
I usually start out with no preconceived idea of the finished piece. I let the objects and images interact with one another to build the scenario. When I work 3-dimensionally the added element of physical space imparts a unique characteristic to the overall construction – allowing the view to interact with the art in a deeper way.
